Pirates: A History

Since the begining of the silver screen, pirates have been staring characters in many films. But like many other thing in the movies, pirates have been exagerated. Maybe the most "real" pirate from a movie is Captain Jack Sparrow. Like Sparrow, pirates fancied drinking, being in charge, and trying to impress. Very few Pirates actualy burried their loot. By definition a pirate is an individual that steals from other ships and then uses a ship to get away. The pirate that falls most into the stereotypical description of a pirate is probably Blackbeard. Blackbeard was killed in North Carolina after "visiting" Charleston, S.C.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

(Review by Red)
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is the fourth film of the Disney Pirates of the Caribbean film series. Like the three films before it, Johnny Depp plays the trouble-making, but quite witty character of Captain Jack Sparrow. This film contains two of my favorite things: pirates and mermaids. The story starts up at a trial for Jack and his escape. He is then taken to the King of England and informed that he is search for the Fountain of Youth. Puzzled by the fact that he is searching for the Fountain, he finds out a fellow pirate (though he is not sure who) is useing Jack's name. Jack meets a past love and ends up on the Queen Anne's Revenge captained by none other then Blackbeard. Jack is forced to join the quest to search for the Fountain. On the Queen Anne's Revenge, Sparrow meets a young missionary called Philip Swift. After Philip is saved by a mermaid called Syrena, he falls in love. The movie has the same feel of the other three and includes two small romantic tales. I am also under the impression this will not be the last Pirates film.
